Hey, Hi, Hellooo Gemini season! Ruled by quick-minded Mercury, Gemini energy is clever, witty, social, curious, trendsetting and craves mental stimulation above all else. The twins are an expression of the many faces we each wear, and when you think of it like that, it’s far beyond two faces because every single one of us is uniquely multi-faceted. Geminis are prisms, and we when light shines through at any given angle, a dynamic new face (or metaphorical color) of ours emerges in all its kaleidoscopic glory.
Kaleidoscopes are the perfect manifestation of Gemini as they demonstrate that every version of ourselves is different and beautiful. They all have our same face but they act and dress differently. And within ourselves, they can all congregate around a proverbial dinner table and discuss, delegate, motivate, and reach the balances necessary for everyday tasks, goals and dreams. And every version of ourselves around that mental table deserves to be seen and embodied.
Gemini season encourages us to honor our inner community and embody every facet of ourselves through playful dress up and unapologetic expression.
The sign of Gemini corresponds to The Lovers major arcana card. Given its name, many are quick to assume that this card is of a romantic nature, and it certainly can be, however it is more about the duality of the world and the balance we all seek between not only the light and dark of the world, but the light and dark within ourselves as well.
This card always makes me think of complementary colors on the color wheel which are actually colors on the opposite end of each other on the wheel, making their pairing incredibly striking (i.e. blue and orange, purple and yellow & red and green). This demonstrates how opposites not only attract, but complement each other and in turn is the essence of The Lovers card.
As the woman looks around her and the man looks in front of him, between them taking in every angle of what lies before them, this depiction shows that this card (and Geminis) are about the consideration of all perspectives. Geminis and air signs in general are gifted with the distinct ability to really entertain every and any side of a situation, but the goal is to look down from above (like the Angel) to make the most informed decision.
This mercurial, calculating and analytical nature makes Geminis incredibly diplomatic which in turn makes them incredibly adept social creatures whether it be in a professional or personal setting.
